Lucio Linhares vs. Mikhail Zayats set for Affliction “Trilogy”

Two of the very best fighters from M-1 Challenge will be facing off on the undercard of Affliction III: Trilogy as Lucio Lihares (12-4) and Mikhail Zayats (8-3) have been confirmed to do battle. was the first to break the news of the middleweight bout.

The event is set for August 1 and will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Josh Barnett.

Linhares is a Team Finland fighter that has won his last four straight bouts with a recent win over UFC veteran Sean Salmon while Zayats competes for Fedor Emelianenko’s Team Russia Imperial and has dropped his last two bouts after going on a four fight win streak.

The two are no strangers to one another as they fought in one of the most electrifying battles in M-1 Challenge history back in June of 2008. Zayats ended up with the decision victory in a bout that many felt could have gone the other way. They will have their chance to settle the score once and for all at “Trilogy” in a fight that is impossible to disappoint.
