Similar to Wanderlei, Randy, Fedor, Nogueria, etc.... I'll always look to his fights with a sense of boyish glee about what's to come and dread if the dream dies a little and these fighters lose horribly. UFC does not allow kicks to the head of a downed opponent. 2. Rua's knees are probably screwed up permanently. If your knees are messed up, you can't punch right and can't takedown right. Machida has the same elite level of grappling and better takedown defense in any case. 3. Late 20's athletes simply do not have the same energy as early to mid 20's athletes. Due to age and screwed up knees he has to be in shape. Maybe we'll get lucky. His style of go-for-it rd 1 T/KO's against Machida's cant-touch-this elusiveness could make for a great bout. If you look at the big picture however, the only reason Shogun is getting the shot is becuase other fighters are tied down with other fights or television show. If Forrest didn't agree with his fight, he would probably be fighting Machida. Believe me though, Rampage knows he needs to prepare for Machida and try to find a chink in his armor.
