I can't believe there's this much interest in the UFC Hall of Fame. I mean come on it shouldn't be taken seriously at all.
Both Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock are in and they were in hands down the worst fight I've ever seen in the UFC and I happened to be there in Detroit, and tried to give it a second chance thinking it couldn't have been as bad as I remembered so I rented it years later watched it again and had the pleasure of being tortured twice.
Then when you look at Mark Coleman being in also I don't even know what else to say, so I'm not even going to get started on Mask.

Boy it is "getting hot up in here". I feel that as long as there is not an impartial board set up to nominate inductees then a gray cloud of stench hovers. i.e. Tito will never make it to the hall a fame, and that is a shame.

Dave, you know I love you and all, but who says you have to be retired/no longer fighting to be inducted? Michael Jackson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame long before his death.

Basically, I think there should be a SOP for the Hall of Fame, and a board/committee set up to follow the SOP in nominating inductees, but since this is the UFC and it his family owned and operated it isn't gonna happen.

If your gonna select a fighter it should be someone not still fighting in the ufc so drop bj,liddel, hughes. that for me leaves tanner and frye. If you want to put one in as a so called "builder category" I would select Mask. Just on a bit of a side note the whiny bitch penn would never get in if i had any say.

edub your entire post is a joke. And real creative calling someone who you disagree with a "Douche". I'm sure your next option would have been retard.
Keep up the brilliance, and keep thinking the UFC Hall of Fame is legit.

Meatloaf: I was watching in those days. And Tank knocked out guys like Matua and "the guy against the fence"(don't feel like looking that up). Maybe Brad Kohler should be in to.

Point is all the guys who dominated in those days are already in outside of MAYBE Don Frye. Steve Jennum deserves to be in above tank. Oleg Taktarov deserves to be in above Tank.

Shit why dont we put Mark Kerr in for making "the smashing machine".

Douche.

It seems like its too late now, but I would have liked to have seen Randy and Chuck inducted at the same time. I felt that they had a good rivalry that really propelled the UFC into the mainstream in '03-'06.
No bad blood between the two anymore, but inducting two UFC poster boys together would have made a lot of sense.
I too like the idea of fighters being inducted as HOF athletes but think that the UFC should also create a "BUILDERS" category for the likes of Art Davie, Mask, Big John, Joe Rogan, Bruce Buffer, Stitch etc. This category could also induct groups like Semaphore Entertainment Group (the reason we have a cage), New Jersey Athletic Board (Created the first rules and sanctioning), Gracie Jiu Jitsu, the Militch Camp, and TapouT brand to name a few. Thats my 2 cents!

Yes, I know you stated that Tanner won the MW title but lost it in his first defense.

My point was that Tanner WAS a former champion which puts him leagues above the object of your man-crush, Tank Abbott.

My problem isn't reading comprehension, it's my inability to talk reason to an idiot.

Sergio Hernandez"It’s called reading. Don’t be afraid of it, it won’t bite."

What the hell are you talking about are you dumb or something?

You clearly stated in the first line in your previous post in BOLD that "Tanner is a FORMER MW CHAMPION you numbskull" in reply to my post when I clearly stated the exact same thing.

Why don't you try to practice what you preach before you come across as a complete moron.

"But you’re right. I wouldn’t expect Tanner to be inducted next weekend if not for his death. But an early induction seems to be a fitting way to honor a fallen CHAMPION."

Sergio Hernandez"Tanner is a FORMER MW CHAMPION, you numbskull"
Who said Tanner wasn't a champion?
It couldn't have been the guy who also pointed out he lost his first title defense? Doesn't sound Hall of Fame worthy.

Listen this is ridiculous if you think that for one second Tanner and Mask would be under consideration if they were alive then you are a complete moron and need to get your head out of the sand.

Tanner is a FORMER MW CHAMPION, you numbskull.

Your argument for Tank being inducted reads like, "OMGZ TaNk WuZ KOing JABRONIES left n RITE bck in da DaY, he shuld b IN!!!!!1"

Tank wasn't an icon, he was the unfortunate poster child for every negative stereotype that the UFC and MMA in general is trying to shake off.

But you're right. I wouldn't expect Tanner to be inducted next weekend if not for his death. But an early induction seems to be a fitting way to honor a fallen CHAMPION.

How many championships has Tank won? Oh, yeah...

As for Mask... holy shit, if I have to explain to you how much he has done for the sport by "designing a t shirt logo," then there's really no hope for you.

If every MMA fan was a TENTH of the fan Mask was, the sport would be on par with the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc.

Well....if they allow non-fighters into the hall of fame - i would say it could be Mask and Evan Tanner.

But really...Hall of fame should be reserved for fighters. If there will be a MMA HALL OF FAME ...ok but not the UFC's. That should be reserved for fighters imo.

What's next after the TapouT crew? Joe Rogan, Mike Goldberg, Joe Silva, Dana himself, the Fertitas, Stitch Duran, John McCarthy & all other refs, Marc Ratner, Bruce Buffer, Logan, Arianny and Mr. Ed and Justin Timberlake and the whole NSAC?

Why not induct Tom Atencio...he has a clothing company as well and he sponsores fighters and has the fight promotion where the fighters make the biggest bucks...

I hope it stays fighters only!!!! F u c k Mask...spoiled multimillionaire racing to his death with a drunk girl in the car while wearing war paint...

I admire what he did for small unkown fighters on the other hand they helped always themselves and their brand with every TapoouT patch worn by a fighters and seen on tv.

Sergio Hernandez "Both, arguably, could be inducted based on their accomplishments and importance to the sport. An induction now, over say in 10 years, would be a way to honor them sooner after they’ve passed."

What great accomplishments? Seriously, Tanner was an above average fighter who lost to all the top guys he faced aside from Lawler when is was Robbie's 1st fight at 185. He won the middleweight championship then lost the 1st defense. If he was still living his name wouldn't be discussed and if you think otherwise you're delusional. As for Mask his accomplishments were what exactly besides designing a t shirt logo and making some money with a clothing line and also dying. Thats why he's discussed. Feel free to name the numerous ways he's a Hall of Famer.

edub "Evan Tanner and Mask getting in is laughable, but you think Tank should get in"

I have news for you whether you were watching in those years or you believe it or not Tank was an icon in this sport and had 18 fights in the UFC with some of the best highlight reel knockouts in the sports short history. A Hall of Fame isn't always about the best guys. Thats why Joe Namath is in the NFL Hall of Fame. Look at his numbers hardly Hall of Fame worthy more Interceptions than touchdowns, but he was an Icon. Same thing with Tank in the early part of MMA.
More important part of the sports history than Tanner and Mask for Gods sake, but people can't feel sorry for Tank and vote him in to be politically correct because he's still among the living.

More important part of the sports history than Tanner and Mask for Gods sake, but people can’t feel sorry for Tank and vote him in to be politically correct because he’s still among the living.

Evan Tanner and Mask getting in is laughable, but you think Tank should get in.

Umm I dont know where to start?

"If it ends up being Mask and Evan Tanner that’ll be laughable. Dying before your time shouldn’t be Hall of Fame credentials."

I'm sorry but in no way would inductions for Mask and Tanner be "laughable."

Both, arguably, could be inducted based on their accomplishments and importance to the sport. An induction now, over say in 10 years, would be a way to honor them sooner after they've passed.

How is that laughable?

I'm with Angry Mike. There should be a seperate induction for the 'stache. Maybe Mazzagati's stache as well. Tanner and Hughes will probably get it though.

If their is in some way justice and the right two get in it will be Tito and Tank. But you have about as much of a chance of seeing Jorge Gurgel inducted.

Why would you put commentators and clothing manufacturers in the hall of fame. Perhaps we should put the lovely Eddith and some of the other ring girls in there and perhaps a spectator or two.
Fighters, coaches and maybe the odd ref only please.
