Roger Gracie coming to Strikeforce on August 15

Roger Gracie is all set to make his first appearance for Strikeforce on August 15 as part of the “Carano vs. Cyborg” event.

The news comes courtesy of a recent report made by GracieMag.com.

Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg is set to take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.

No news of an expected opponent for the 6’4″, 220 pound Gracie has been announced at this time.

Roger is a second degree black belt under Carlos Gracie Jr., a multiple champion in Ji-Jitsu and sports an unblemished record of 2-0 up to this point in his professional mixed martial arts career. Both of his previous victories have come by way of submission, and both have come in the first round.

Damian Maia has shown that great BJJ can take you along way, but to make it all the way to the top Gracie and Maia will have to have some threat of striking, and more wrestling to take down and control top fighters. Hopefully, Gracie will start fighting on a regular basis, he could be a major HW or LHW player in the next few years
