Hawaii to begin MMA regulation this week
The Hawaii Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs’ Boxing division is all set to kick off the state’s official MMA regulation this week.
The news came courtesy of a recent report from Jake Rossen over at ESPN.com.
The legislation was recently passed in 2008 and will tweak Hawaii’s MMA rules to mirror the rules used by the Nevada State Athletic commission today.
The recent regulation makes it a lot more likely that we could very well see the first UFC on Hawaiian soil in the promotion’s history.
Popular UFC fighters that call Hawaii home include B.J.Penn and Chris Leben.

Oh baby!
Watching BJ fight on home turf would be a treat
Maybe he’ll exercise his rematch clause after Kenny becomes champ.
