As previously announced by the Grapplers Quest organization, three submission superfights had been organized for UFC 100 weekend.
The organization announced it’s fourth and final superfight today. It will be between Ultimate Fighter 8 finalist Vinny Magalhaes and Team Minotauro jiu jitsu coach Daniel Valverde.
Grapplers Quest organization made the final announcement through their account on the increasingly popular Twitter social networking site.
The four superfights will be held on the weekend of July 10 and 11 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The superfights will be a major staple of the very first UFC fan expo.
Magalhaes and Valverde are both elite Brazilian jit jitsu black belts with a wealth of grappling experience.
Also highlighting the bill of grappling superfights are UFC lightweight Joe Stevenson, WEC veteran Fredson Paxaio, and Japanese MMA legend Rumina Sato.
The bout schedule is as follows:
Friday, July 10 at 2:00pm PST – Vinny Magalhaes vs. Daniel Valver
de, Rumina Sato vs. Ulysses Gomez (multiple-time grappling champion)
Saturday, July 11 at 2:00pm PST – Fredson Paixao vs. Jeff Glover (22-time Grapplers Quest champion), Joe Stevenson vs. Bill Cooper
Magalhaes and Valverde became rival’s on the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter where Valverde served as one of Antonio Minotauro Nogueira’s coaches. The conflict stems from Magalhaes stating that Nogueria did not possess elite-level grappling skills.
The Grapplers Quest superfights surely add some spice to the already action-packedand the UFC 100 weekend.
