Dave Jansen signs with WEC

davejansenUndefeated lightweight Dave Jansen has recently signed a deal with the WEC and will make his first appearance for the promotion at WEC 43.

The news of the signing was revealed during a recent report on MMAJunkie.com.

WEC 43 is set for September 2 at the Covelli Center in Youngstown, Ohio and will feature a main event between Donald Cerrone and Benson Henderson for the WEC lightweight interim championship. No opponent is reported for Jansen at this time.

Jansen began wrestling in kindergarten and went on to take the Oregon State wrestling championship at 151 pounds. He went on to wrestle for the University of Oregon before discovering his passion for mixed martial arts and has been training with Team Quest ever since. Jansen is often referred to as one of the hardest working members of Team Quest from his own peers.

He has put together an impressive professional record of 12-0 since his debut in 2007 with his most recent victory taking just twenty-two seconds as he submitted Amirkhan Mazihov during “M-1 Challenge: Korea” in July.

Good signings in Corbbrey and Jansen. I hope the WEC can really add some depth to their LW division.
