With over 100 total professional Mixed Martial Arts bouts between them, and more than twenty years of combined in-ring experience, it might surprise some to find out Derrick Noble and Shonie Carter have never crossed paths in their notable careers.
While each has faced a number the sport’s top competitors since first testing the MMA waters, even scoring wins over the likes of Thiago Alves, Matt Serra, Chris Lytle, and Carlos Prater along the way, neither Noble or Carter have ever faced off against each other inside the cage.
That being said, fans can see history in the making when the colorful Carter and Minnesota Martial Arts Academy’s Noble headline the ”Vendetta FC – A Night of Vengeance” event scheduled for September 5th in Oranjestad, Aruba.
“Mr. International” will be looking to further his current three-fight winning streak against the tough Noble, who, after racking up back-to-back victories himself, is coming off a hard-fought five-round decision loss to Antonio McKee this past February.
When contacted by FiveOuncesOfPain.com in regards to his thoughts on Carter, Noble responded, “I expect it to be a challenging but fun fight. He does some weird stuff, is kind of unpredictable, and obviously has a ton of experience so it should hopefully be an exciting fight.”
Also on the card is Team Quest’s Aaron Stark who will be looking to win his seventh fight in a row as well as an eight-man tournament and several other “yet to be announced” match-ups.
Additionally, the always-entertaining stylings of Bas Rutten are scheduled to be present on the commentary end of the event.
Those who are not lucky enough to travel to the island paradise will still be able to catch the action when Fox Sports broadcasts the event on October 1st.
