My last thoughts on the Anderson Silva fight. After knowing that he is probably the best counter striker in MMA and that he has been submitted twice and that the most success anyone has had against him recently was on the ground, what would your game plan be against "the Spider"?. Thats right! Stand and trade with slow head kicks (one where Silva would have had to jump to get hit by it), body shots and boxing as if you are sparring and finally running and lunging at him with your chin high and proud! That is a brilliant idea! but I don't really know if it was Forrest's idea. Hmmmm food for thought.

It would be nice to see friends fight like the Sell vs Smith match, thoes two were friends but they let it all hang out.
I think Elite XC had a lot more pressure to succede and have there #1 guy keep winning, and with that kind of pressure comes poor decisions. Back in thoes days stars were not manufactured like they are nowdays so it is very difficult to compaire.
If elite xc fixed thoes fights they got what they deserved in the end.

Oh well. I bet the same thing would happen if Lyoto & A Silva fought too.

No comment on the EliteXC Garbage?

Thoes two guys were training partners at the time, and Macias was a alternate whos first fight(at the time they had made all alternates have a fight first) lasted about 45 seconds. He was notified he had to fight Oleg and refused, ultimatly accepting the fight. Watch the tape it is very obvious.

Maybe he was gassed and was just done? Those were same day multiple fights tournaments. Hell, Even Royce pulled out before due to exhaustion.

I think it's a little far fetched to think fights have been fixed. If anything we might want to take a look at some of the shit EliteXC pulled.

Thomson's Ear? Tank Abbott just falling over?

The first fixed fight in the ufc
Oleg Taktaron vs Anthony Macias.
In the ufc 6 these guys meet in the semi finals and it lasted all of 10 seconds with Macias putting his neck into Olegs arm and tapping very qiuckly. I dont know that it has happened since but it has happened.

Do you really think that a fight in the UFC has never been fixed s00nerpt?. A little naive don't you think.
Locker-room bonuses and putting pressure on fighters to have "exciting fights" is a form of fixing in it's self. Not to mention that you can gamble on it and the company invests huge money each event and some heavily marketed fighters.
But I'm sure you are right and no fights have been fixed or influenced at all, just like all steroid users have been caught.
Rose colored glasses dude.
P.S. Not saying it was fixed but Forrest did look unusually shit and in the words of Rogan "as much as I like Forrest this is one of the most embarrassing KOs I've ever seen...a back foot jab... it was just like a slap...it didn't even look that hard"

I can't prove a thing, just putting it out there as a "what if". The motivation was there, I mean imagine if Anderson had lost, after his last 2 fights his name, and ppv selling ability would have taken a huge blow. Thats huge money for the UFC to risk or to gain on such a fight.
P.S. Anderson wouldn't kill Fedor...I'm sure the ref would stop it long before that.

In "Snatch" the fighter is supposed to go down in the fourth round in both bouts not the third. Poor Forest it's so easy to set a guy up for a devastating loss when he will fight anyone.

why has not one person commented on the incredible disappointment with the way Forrest handled the end of the fight... someone mentioned his fighting maturity, but what about his general maturity? A good percentage of these fighters are decorated with belts from martial arts disciplines that are based on honor and respect. I am sorry that he got owned in the octagon, but he needed to show respect for himself and his opponent. My son who is nearing his black belt in Tang Soo Do, was incredibly disappointed in Forrest for running away after the fight. any thoughts on this aspect of the loss?

Griffin although likable needs maturity in his fighting. Think before you punch comes with age. Anderson vs Machida I do not believe will happen its sad that fight and Fedor vs Brock the two fights everyone wants to see amazingly not possible.

Ozz I agree Anderson would kill Fedor, I think Brock and Randy would both kill Fedor.

Randy vs Anderson would be a great plan b fight. Randy was a army boxing champ and with his conditioning would be at least a fun fight to watch. George Rush if he can gain some pounds would also be a great fight for Anderson.

Anderson needs to be match with speed whos next??

Fujita showed the world that Fedor CAN be rocked. I see that as a MAJOR strength to Silva's favor.

Anyways, fun to ponder. But, you never know.
