But hell, we may see a “bully” beat Arlovski this season..

I think they are just conducting their business and growing it in a way they think will get them more attention and more money in the long run. The UFC is the best around, there is no doubt about that but there is nothing wrong with other MMA organizations trying to put on shows. Who knows, if Strikeforce can get the CBS deal that Elite XC had and get on national TV and get great ratings, then another network will see the value in MMA and the UFC will get their TV deal.
