C.B. Dollaway to face UFC newcomer Jay Silva at UFC Fight Night 19
With Dan Miller sidelined by an infection, UFC newcomer Jay Silva has agreed to fill his shoes in a middleweight match-up against C.B. Dollaway.
The two will face off at UFC Fight Night 19 which is set for the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City on September 16 and will air live on Spike TV.
The news of the bout comes courtesy of a recent report from MMAMadness.com.
Dollaway, a former All-American wrestler out of Arizona State University that trains out of Arizona Combat Sports, will be looking to get back on the winning trail after disappointing first round guillotine choke at the hands of Tom Lawlor during UFC 100. Prior to that he had strung together back to back victories in the Octagon over Jesse Taylor and Mike Massenzio.
Silva earned a reputation as a knockout artist as an amateur, compiling an undefeated record while finishing all seven of his fights. As a professional Silva has continued to go undefeated with a record of 5-0 with four knockouts to his credit.
Below is a full list of the bouts expected for UFC Fight Night 19.:
Nate Diaz vs. Melvin Guillard
Roger Huerta vs. Gray Maynard
Carlos Condit vs. Jake Ellenberger
Tim Credeur vs. Nate Quarry
Steve Cantwell vs. Brian Stann
Mike Pyle vs. Chris Wilson
C.B. Dollaway vs. Jay Silva
Phillipe Nover vs. Sam Stout
Justin Buchholz vs. Jeremy Stephens
Brock Larson vs. Mike Pierce
Ryan Jensen vs. Steven Steinbeiss

Lots of good match ups on this one. I really want to see Huerta/Maynard, and it will be interesting to see how Condit rebounds from his recent loss. Stann/Cantwell III should be interesting, too. Hopefully Stann has expanded his repertoire.

not saying this will be a huge factor but the last time huerta got into the ring i think just over a year ago when he lost to Ken Flo in dominate fashion. Then i read him wanting to take his like in entertainment more seriously with his modeling and acting. i believe he has one fight left in his contract and this will be his swan song out. His head is not in to it imo but he might have had some kinda of fire lit under his ass and really is ready to come back. Maynard is on a tear with a 5 win streak against some pretty decent fighters. oh he something to prove as well.
Maynard all the way on this one. I think the once chosen pretty boy has past his time in the cage.

The “doberman” is more like a mini pincer, and after he gets beat here its off to strikefarce with him. Diaz should win but i’m going for melvin cause I hate the Diaz brothers and take pride in watching them lose. huerta vs maynard should be fun to watch i got maynard by split decision. Condit is a guy I’ve always enjoyed watching figh and see him winning here second round tko. Nover yet another TUF guy about to have his last fight in the UFC When the hands of stone pound him out 1st rd ko. the rest of the card looks pretty one sided.
Credeur tko rd 2
cantwell unanimous decision
