ace328: I’ve watched years of World’s Strongest Man and don’t remember anyone ever saying it is a tested event. Be interested to see any back-up on that assertion, as I love these guys, they are animals, but most of them are 300+ lbs and squatting/deadlifting insane amounts of weight, which is not usually associated with natural athletes.

As was illustrated earlier this evening on the first episode of TUF 10, a ground game is an essential aspect in being truly competitive in heavyweight MMA. While Marius does have some stand-up experience with karate and boxing, and obviously has crazy brutal full body strength, he might get a rude awakening against a strong wrestler who was able to take him down. Still, I’d love to see him fight, as the spirit he has demonstrated in strong man competition would translate well to MMA.

“Bullylover”, unless he’s put in there with a Virgin Creampuff, he will not catch anyone in a kimura……Though you are right, I would not want to be caught in one with him if he knows what he’s doing, especially with a “bad” ref!

Size, strength, and Power are things this dude must already posess and ive watched a few videos on youtube of his training and some of his strongman stuff. He looks like he has some good footwork and speed for a big guy. For him to translate well to MMA I personally think he needs to get into a camp with some top notch wrestlers to balance his boxing and karate. I saw someone say its to late a start for him in the sport at 32, but if im not mistaken didn’t randy couture start at the same age? and before you jump all over me NO I’m not saying he will be anywhere near as good as Randy just that he isn’t really that old.

I think this event will be for free stream in polish application “ipla”, last KSW was on it.

1. Go to http://www.ipla.pl/
2. “Pobierz ipla” = Download ipla.
3. Run “iplasetup.exe”
4. Check “Zgadzam si?” (I agree), click “instaluj” (Install)
5. Click “Zako?cz” (Finish)

Now ipla will start after installation.
1. Click “Media” on the left, then “Sport”
2. Next click “KSW”

Now you can watch KSW 11, press conference Pudzianowski- Najman, and probably in future KSW 12

Even though I was sarcastic about giving him a title shot in the UFC, I was just talking with a good buddy of mine who’s an ex-Olympic weightlifter and he is absolutely pumped about Pudzianowski.

He thinks this guy is a freaking animal and has such explosive power and agility that he is absolutely positive with his martial arts and boxing background that he’ll transition into mma very quickly.

Of course stamina and cardio are always concerns with guys this big, but this guy is a freak of nature and is in peak condition.

Either way I’ll have to find a way to watch his debut, I’m very curious.

Ha NIv. Comparing apples to well…..butterfingers.

I dont think I need much argument to discount your theory (although probably somewhat sarcastic), so Ill keep it simple. A national champion HW wrestler is much much much much more impressive in fighting terms when compared with boxing and doing karate since you were a kid.

I’m curious to see what this guy brings to the table. If people can get excited about Brock, then I don’t understand how they feel this guy who’s been doing karate since he was a kid and boxed for the past seven years isn’t going to have real potential.

I say after one win they sign him in the UFC and give him a title shot.

Look at his foot work an some speed – i think he has some unique speed for a heavy guy like Brock Lesnar. He is not big, slow dude.

Yes yes yes! Ive been waiting for one of these guys to cross over for a little while now. And the one with the most potential did! This guy is INSANELY POWERFUL if youve never watched the contest. I really wish there was some way I could watch this fight.

We have seen strongmen in competition before, and this will probably end up about the same. With that much mass the guy will be tremendoulsy slow compaired to a trained professional fighter. I think Dream should have included this guy in the super hullk tournament.

Was this topic about steroids? I missed it reading the article.

Pudzianowski has an background in Kyokushin karate and boxing so it’s not like he’s totally green when it comes to combat sports.
Not to mention he’s a freak athlete. That’s the main reason he’s won all these Strongest man titles. Most of the other guys are much bigger, but he has such explosive power it unreal.

Does anybody do random tests besides the NSAC? I’m not even sure if how random those actually are because you hear about fighters knowing about when they’ll have to piss.

They guy may pass a test for ‘roids and other performance enhancing substances on that are in advance, but I’ll eat his weight belt (smoked over apple wood with a vinegar-based bbq sauce, please) if he can pass random tests administered on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
