Crazy news. I dont think this is a bad move but I am not sure about having his brother be the head coach. I wonder if Kenny will start training with Greg Jackson as well now? That would be a good move for him.

Kenny by all accounts should be able to beat Clay regardless but I’m going to be looking at how he fights rather than him winning. Clay is almost guaranteed to try to take him down and grind him out, and I think it will be interesting to see how Kenny avoids that.

It should be a good move for him. If you stay in the same place too long, you get stale and predictable after a while, and there’s only so much one teacher can teach you. Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery.

100% agree dub. I was really hoping for him to use his striking more with BJ. Sometimes a change of scenery is a good thing. He will have to change it up aginst Clay cause he is to strong of a fighter to be held up aginst the cage like that. Come on Ken Flo where is the Tai skills dog

Dellagrotte made Florian a much better striker than when he was on TUF, but imo Florian hasn’t put the pieces together so that he’s the best MMA fighter he can be. He started off as a bjj fighter and then became almost exclusively a striker. He hasn’t really integrated all of the skills. I don’t know whether Zahabi is the right guy for Florian, but he needs somebody who can help him pull it all together.

I hope Kenny isnt making a mistake giving his brother all the “power”. It would seem to me that whoever came up with the gameplan against Penn was dead wrong. He isnt GSP and he tried the same tactic that GSP used. Im not saying it wouldve changed the outcome but I think he couldve put up a stronger performance.

Kenny is a great fighter, but having gotten as far as he got (title contender twice but not champion) I think it is a wise move to change things up. Hopefull this works well for him.
