King Mo inks deal with Strikeforce

King MoMuhammed “King Mo” Lawal, one of the fastest rising fighters in the sport, has recently signed with Strikeforce to compete in their light heavyweight division.

The news of the recent signing comes courtesy of a report on Sherdog, who also confirmed that the contract will also allow Mo to compete in the Sengoku organization where he started out his career, racking up four victories in less than six months.

Most recently Lawal made lightning quick work of Mark “The Smashing Machine” Kerr during “M-1: Breakthrough” on August 28, where he slammed the UFC veteran to the canvas and knocked him unconscious with a shower of heavy punches.

Mo’s recent acquisition to the Strikeforce 205 pound division will go a long way in building up the promotion’s paper thin weight class that currently includes fighters such as champion Gegard Mousasi, and former champion’s Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Bobby Southworth.
