Tim Sylvia, Kazushi Sakuraba, Shinya Aoki, Bob Sapp, Kid Yamamoto and others announced for “Dynamite!! 2009″
With a rich and extensive tradition of putting together spectacular New Years Eve mixed martial arts events, 2009 is looking like another years end celebration that will fail to disappoint in the land of the rising sun.
“Dynamite!! 2009” will be taking place on December 31 from the Saitama Arena in Saitama, Japan, airing live in the United States on HDNet.
FEG President Sadaharu Tanigawa and DREAM Event Producer Keiichi Sasahara recently released a sneak peak at the roster they are currently working on that includes fighters such as Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, Bob Sapp, Tim Sylvia, Kazushi Sakuraba, Kiyoshi Tamura, Hayato “Mach” Sakurai, Hideo Tokoro and Hong Man Choi.
While no match-ups have been confirmed at this time for the previously confirmed participants, announcements of their specific bouts are expected to roll out shortly.
At this time the current fights that have been confirmed for the are Shinya Aoki vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri for the DREAM lightweight crown; Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Ikuhisa Minowa in the Super Hulk Tournament Final; and a K-1 rules bout between Masato Kobayashi and the winner of this year’s K-1 World Max Championship.

I say Bob Sapp fights Tim Sylvia. If Syliva wins, he can be considered for a Strikeforce/UFC fight. If Sapp wins, Sylvia is done and Sapp gets to fight for more exhibition fights in Japan.

Tim Silvia vs. Bob Sapp equals a bathroom break. Its a fight that will suck ass between a used to be and a never was. If Silvia wins well he was supposed to and if Sapp wins which is slim to none chance then Silvia needs to go back to his ranch and shoot bambi but never try to fight again. I’m guessing Silvia will be over 300lbs again and think his chances of ever being back under the HW limit is gone which means no more strikeforce or UFC.
not for nothing but Bob Sapp is just a punching bag. I’d fight him and I’m only 205.
BUT that being said I love my Japan Fight Cards
Bob Sapp is fighting a celebrity on NYE kinda like last year, and Sylvia is supposed to be fighting either Alistair Overeem or Hong Man Choi according to his manager Monte Cox.
Not really sure why everyone is talking about Sapp/Sylvia?
I’ve also seen rumors of Nick Diaz vs Hayato Sakurai, but nothing official.
I love when Kid Yamamoto fights. They always show his wife more than they show him. I would do unspeakable, terrible, diabolical sexual things to her.

Well, it’s a Japanese card, and they love the odd-ball match-ups. In that spirit, I’d like to see Choi vs. 3 or 4 “little people” wrestlers. Now that would be a spectacle.

I heard the Choi vs. Silvia rumour and am praying for it.
Also,there’s was an Alvarez vs Aoki rumour,but I guess that ain’t happening.
