I don't even know why Kos would take this fight, unless he is just trying to make himself look good beating much lower competition. This really won't raise his stock if he wins. We also know that he is capable of huge underdog defeats like what happened with Paulo Thiago. This is just a stupid fight for him if he really does want to get another shot at the belt. The real problem is that 3 of the top 5 Welterweights are partners (Kos, Swock, Fitch) so it's hard to get a true contender when they refuse to fight. I mean, it's not like you joined a fighting sport to actually fight, right?

Kos should do fine here.

I agree with Mike, Kos has been impressive the last couple years (outside of one knockout loss). A match-up with Hardy, Daley, or one of the other top ww would do more for his own trek toward a title.

What does this say about UFC's plans for Koschek? Pierce may be an interesting prospect, but he's not at Koschek's level. And there was no way Trigg was up to Koschek. Do these fights help build a case for a title shot for Koschek? It doesn't seem like it to me, because neither Trigg nor Pierce are contenders. So what's the point?

if I were Hughes, I wouldn't be interested in a guaranteed loss either. The game has evolved too much for Hughes to be considered relevant anymore. He was anexceptionally dominant champion, but lost his aura of invincibility.

Looks like Joe Silva has been busy this week. This should be a good match-up, I was shocked when Pierce beat Brock Larson, so this is his chance to really break into the top 10. I think Kos will take this, he is better than Pierce at wrestling, and has an all around game. I guess the couldn't get Matt Hughes interested in fighting Kos.
