Alistair Overeem vs. James Thompson possible for DREAM.12

alistair2After this weekend’s victory over Tony Sylvester at Ultimate Glory,  it appears Alistair Overeem may be scheduled to fight James Thompson at DREAM. 12. Although there has been no official announcement from DREAM, multiple sources are now reporting word of the matchup. With Michael David Smith of confirming with a source “with knowledge of the situation.”

Overeem who is the Strikeforce heavyweight champion had not participated in a mixed martial arts bout for nearly a year before submitting Sylvester in just: 83 seconds in an absurd mismatch, will set his sights on Thompson on October 25, at Osaka Castle Hall in Osaka, Japan.

Thompson enters the short notice fight on a four fight losing streak, the most notable of which was a 3rd round TKO loss to Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson in May of 2008. is presently attempting to independently confirm this match up, and as such this story should be taken as rumor at this time.
