UFC 104 Medical Suspensions

The California State Athletic Commission released Medical suspension information for UFC 104 today. Eight fighters including Light Heavyweight Champion Loyoto Machida were issued suspensions. Missing from the list, challenger Mauricio Rua, who left the event uninjured.

Lyoto Machida suspended for 60 days for a left upper lip laceration.

Ben Rothwell
suspended for 45 days for TKO and 60 days for right eyebrow lacertaion

Spencer Fish suspended for 45 days for hard bout and 60 days for right eye laceration

Yoshiyuki Yoshida suspended 45 days for knockout

Eric “Red” Schafer suspended for 60 days or cleared by physician for right side nose laceration

Pat Barry suspended 180 days or cleared by physician for possible fracture of left wrist

Antoni Hardonk suspended for 45 days for knockout

Rob Kimmons suspended for 45 days for knockout and 60 days for laceration on the left side of the forehead

    Hmmm. Cecil you dont see Shogun’s name anywhere on here do you? I guess those punches that were cleaner and more damaging were a little bit different than you thought.

    I dunno, if Spencer ‘Fish’ was suspended for 45 days for a ‘hard bout’, shouldn’t everybody be suspended for a hard bout? Shouldn’t it be embarrasing to not be suspended for a ‘hard bout’? It might mean that you were mis-matched or something. For instance, if you were a 200+ pound monster who could only cut down to 176 pounds to fight someone in the 170 pound weight class.
