Nice article Adam. This was a good show for Strikeforce which should set the bar pretty high for their next event. Too bad Fedor will be out for 4-6 months with that hand injury.

GassedOut: Yeah…any idea why that fight was scratched, or is Strikeforce keeping that reasoning under wraps?

I still haven't seen any explanation from Strikeforce as to why the fight was cancelled. I haven't seen an explanation from M-1 Global either, but if it doesn't concern Fedor they don't really care.

I thought that was a great opener. The fight was beautiful. Very rarely do you see Heavyweights expend THAT much energy, and take THAT much damage, and keep kicking full force til the end. Great display of heart from both of these big guys.

Also, I’m a little surprised they didn’t show the girls’ fight. It’s one thing if it went the distance, but a 1 minute submission? Come on. They’ve always been proud to rep the girls, and normally they find a spot on the main card. I suppose this main card was already stacked, but surely they could’ve inserted a 1 minute fight.

WAMMA was okay for Affliction, when you knew both were going to fail.

Strikeforce has no need for a “WAMMA” belt, a SF title belt around Fedors waist will mean more than a WAMMA belt around his waist.

H*ll, even without the belt around his waist, WE ALL KNOW FEDOR IS THE CHAMP!

This was a good article. It seems like alot of people have been giving Strikeforce a pass on canceling the fight, but they screwed those two fighters bad, and need to be called out on it. I really want to hear from Coker on that.

I also want to see Overeem fight Fedor first, but fans in the US haven’t seen or heard from Allister in a long time so he will probably need at least one fight on US soil before they make that happen.

How many fights does Mousasi have on his SF contract? I’m just curious because like the article says, there just aren’t that many good fights for him with SF, and I also agree that I would pick Hendo to beat him, and then there would be no good fights for Hendo.

The fights ended up being decent. Mousassi needs some real opponents and Shields could have tried to actually do some damage to Miller. Other wise pretty satisfying. The real problem was in the terrible presentation and commentating of the event. You could tell this is still an novice team when it came to the broadcast. In the bigger picture you need to look into the future and be a little afraid. The only real match up Fedor has left that is worth his time is Overeem who doesn’t seem all that interested in fighting. Shields although talented is not really all that impressive as a Middle wieght champ. The rosters just aren’t very deep to put out too many cards and Strikeforce has backed down from making their champs live up the belts they hold. Some one at Strikeforce must realize they are in a good spot to make an impression on the sport, but only if they can fix some of these big issues soon.

I like Rogers but the whole lead up(Sho-360) to this fight you had Rogers saying Fedor is just a man and he will treat it like any other fight. So Rogers loses and then claimes the mystique of Fedor got to him a bit. I got a flashback to Tim Sylvia losing to Couture and claiming a back injury, but Rogers looked to be in great shape and hopefully this will make him a better fighter.

Overall a Good night of fights But one thing that bothers me about the HW Belt and Overeem just sitting on it in Holland and why havent’ Strikeforce or Coker stripped him of the Belt?? Dana and the UFC wouldnt tolerate that or at least have a interim HW Belt to force Overeem to come out and defend it?? And the whole thing with not showing other fights it was full of Commercials..I enjoyed the Fedor vs Rodgers fight and I have to add also Rodgers needs to be humble in defeat and I know it was the heat of the moment but he was so pissed off and it was alittle uncomfortable watching MMA is all about Sportsmanship & respect MMA fighters have for one another..

I am glad to see someone shares my opinion about the ladies fight. This fight will likely determin either a future main event or co-main event and we do not get to see it.
Still I wont get to upset because this was SF first live prime time event and it went very well.
