Having two of the most intriguing and prominent fighters come in to a "Contenders" match will derail one of them for a chance at a title shot. Whomever loses will fall down the ladder and may never get another opportunity anytime soon. The UFC, in a perfect world, would have rather seen both get there chances for future headlining shows. We do not live in a perfect world. Also throwing Carwin into the mix where he was to fight Cain, would have been the same scenario. I do not have a solution, but hopefully Joe Silva does.
