Tournaments should be fought over a couple days, and that will not happen in the UFC. So instead you have a drawn out tourney over months which in turn is very similar to how Joe Silva's match-making already works. A fighter's opponent will always increase in difficulty until he has won the Belt. This will not be a case like Cung Le or Overeem, where the title-holder disappears for eons and their absence isn't even correlated with an injury. This is Brock Lesnar; I would argue one of the most well known UFC fighters ever. He is a household name now. The heavyweight division is truly budding right now and exciting heavyweight matches are to be had. But this discussion is much too early, I think this idea should be considered when its been at least the 6 months as it has been optimistically projected for Brock's return.
