Photo Gallery: Cole Konrad makes his MMA Debut

Blue chip heavyweight prospect Cole Konrad, competing for the M.A.X. Fights promotion made his MMA debut this weekend submitting Gary Hamen in just 1:13 into his fight via what has been described to FiveOuncesOfPain.com as a “polar bear choke.”
The 26-year old Konrad is a University of Minnesota graduate who was recruited by Brock Lesnar’s MMA wrestling coach Marty Morgan to become a full-time fixture of Lesnar’s training camps. According to eyewitness reports, both Morgan and Lesnar along with UFC heavyweight Chris Tuchscherer cornered Konrad during Saturday’s fight.

Looks like a darce choke mated with a neck crank. That’s pretty painful looking.
i was like a rear naked choke plus a neck crank it looked like he tapped because of the neck crank more then being choked

Nice choke. Pretty weird, given that people usually turn towards or away, and don’t have the full lockup.

Cole Konrad must be happy to have Brock as his buddy… who else has a couple of big time sponsors on there first time out… guess no matter what business your in it’s who yea know… I’m sure his talents speak for him as well but not as well as having Brock make a phone call.
