that is ridiculous how a hall of famer in this type of sport, especialy in this type of sport can only make $250,000. And the sponsors is something way different that has nothing to do with what the UFC pays them, sponsorship money should not even be mentioned. With all the PPV that randy and all the other fighters bring in, they should be getting a way higher amount.
how could De LaHoya make 30 mill. in one fight and the UFC pay $1.1 mill in total. Dana (like him or not) has by far done a GREAT job bringing the sport to where its at, but come on Dana! thats just ridiculous what your paying them, $1.1mill total!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not bad for a guy who is 11-8 over the last 10 years. Quick give him another title shot. He deserves another one with that kind of record. If he loses though it will put him in the hall of fame for losing the most title fights ever by quite some distance. Go Randy.

as an individual sport, the more you earn is based on results. however, to fight on a PPV card with 3 months of training and a dedication to the sport, there has to be a minimum salary that all fighters can attain. look at any sport, peyton manning gets 15 million but the backup who only does special teams gets no less than the minimum salary which i believe is around 440,000.00 a year….each contract should be for at least the minimum with incentives if the fighter wins . i know that everyone isnt the same in this regard but dana has to put up in order for the product to continue to grow and prosper. not everyone has a silver spoon, but give these kids a shot who are dedicated and willing to to face the physical punishment that endures in our sport

I think this is an incomplete picture of a “payday” for the fighters and we gotta stop focusing on it, cause all the facts aren’t there.

Yeah, you have to take into account sponsorship and endorsements and all that fun to get a full view of a fighters income. but that still doesnt completely negate the outrage. These guys are competing at the top level of their sport. There should be mandatory minimums for contracted guys. Contracts should guarantee 3-5 fights a year (I think that the ufc makes a best effort for 3 a year) with at least 2 on PPV cards. Minimum pay on a ppv card should be like 20,000. A spike or vs. card 12,000. This sport needs a Fighters Association.

If you are good enough to fight for the UFC you should get payed a lot more.
For these guys their camp must just work for free.

Is it just me or does it seem that 3 months of hard training should be worth more that $8,ooo? I mean even for the undercard it seems that they are getting choke out of salary!!!

yup, people can hate on the UFC all they want but when it comes to dishing out some great bonuses you cant knock them. I’d like to see fighters get bonuses for finishing fights as well as winning

Very happy for Serra to get that good of a payday, twice in a row though as his last fight with Hughes was FOTN and a 90,000 bonus I belive.

i’m betting at $15,000 Rolles doesnt get another UFC fight. The least he could have done was work on his conditioning a wee bit eh.

Paulo must be chuffed, from $15K to $90K, i bet that is a huge payday for him. Same for Matt Serra too

The thing that stands out to me is why did Rolles Gracie make 15,000 for only his 3rd pro fight, I know he has a name but come on Paulo Thiago only makes 15,000 a fight and it’s his fourth fight for them. Paulo had better go and ask for a raise.
