Angry Mike: “Do you people honestly think Dana is the only one making these decisions?? Im pretty sure that there is a board or a comity that overseas all that and THEY ALL GET TOGETHER and come to THEIR decisions.”Moosebaby02 is on to something. There are disturbing rumors from various sources that the Trilateral Commission and the Freemasons have joined forces to seize control of MMA. As the sport increases in popularity, they can extend their tentacles of influence into the governments of the countries using techniques like subliminal messaging on ppv’s. No one will suspect them because Dana White, who looks like a paunchy Lex Luthor, is perceived as the Zuffa puppet master with only monetary goals. But who pulls the strings of the puppet master? The shadowy figures in the background steeped in ominous masonic rituals! (Quote)

TURKISH: WTF are you talking about? You cannot possibly be that naive.Dana already made his money on Coleman by all the suckers who forked over $45 or $55 dollars for UFC 109.Releasing one of the men who was in the main event just a few days later is like Zuffa basically telling all their fans UFC 109’s main event was a joke and you people bought it anyway. Dana White is laughing all the way to the bank on the blood and sweat of guys like Coleman and when he uses them up they’re easily discarded by him. (Quote)

Except Coleman actually won his last fight against Bonnar and looked pretty good doing it.

And you automatically assume the Coleman is "discarded." How do you know he doesn't have some sort of ambassador position now?

fanoftna33: Bonner vs Griffen is the fight that made the company finally get the notice they deserved, neither one of thoes guys will be cut barring maybe a 5 fight losing streak, which Joe Silva will do his best to prevent. (Quote)

I actually read something in Fight magazine where Dana said something along the lines of, "These two guys helped make my company, you win some you lose some, they'll be with me forever." And truth be told they can always get jobs scouting new fighters, commentating etc. But as long as they have the physical ability to fight they'll always have a fight waiting for them.

This was such a good discussion Im sorry it took me forever to quote on it.

Lethal Liquid made reference to Jardine needing to quit striking with better strikers. Agreed, what happened to his clean strategy that helped him beat Chuck to throw a quick kick/punch combo and move? He needs to utilize that never seen ground game, according to Rashad his takedowns are super slick and the way he got up each time Rampage took him down shows he's hard to hold down.

and now to the point of the article. Let's face it the Hammer helped build the sport, but his time is passed and his paydays are probably getting worse. When he first signed to fight Brock, I read that he got a 3 fight contract and he got about the best he could get out of it.

He made it just short of three rounds with Shogun and almost stopped him in the third. He Decisioned Bonnar and looked fairly good in doing so,and most importantly he got a legendary fight in a main event slot against the guy that basically took his place after he left. To still be on the biggest stage of the sport at his age is just short of unheard of and he should be proud that he's done what he's done. He should coach wrestling for Gurgel and Franklins camp as that's the one skill most of those guys aren't great at.
Sorry to rant for so long, just got off a graveyard and got a little sparked on the way home.

but seriously Good luck to coleman and I hope in the future UFC can wait a few weeks before dumping a HOF fighter Reflects poorly on all involved

Do you people honestly think Dana is the only one making these decisions?? Im pretty sure that there is a board or a comity that overseas all that and THEY ALL GET TOGETHER and come to THEIR decisions.

Just cause Dana knows how to see a dying sport, get together some investors, turn a once thought human cock fighting sport to the fastest climbing sport in the world better than you haters can doesn’t mean he or anyone in ZUFFA is wrong

Talking about being naïve.

Maybe have Rolles Gracie stand by the exit for awhile, as well. Maybe it will actually inspire him to fight.

I can't say I'm completely shocked by this news, but I can say I'm a little dissapointed. As bad as he looked against Couture, I'd still would have liked see him fight the winner, or loser, of Chuck/Tito III. Farewell to The Hammer!

I'll be honest, I'm surprised by this.. But, it's the best thing they could do.. The only thing that would come from any future UFC matchups is a trip to the hospital for Coleman..

I'd also be surprised if Coleman TRULY wants to continue fighting, because he certainly had no drive when he was in there with Couture..

I find it odd that he was cut. Given his recent record:

- He lost a decision to Shogun who fought for the title and will fight for it again
- Beat Bonner who is a decent fighter
- Lost to Randy who will likely fight for the title

I mean others have gone 0-3 like Mac Danzig but were kept. I think he should have been given one more fight perhaps a new comer and then let him go if he loses.

I mean others have gone 0-3 like Mac Danzig but were kept. I think he should have been given one more fight perhaps a new comer and then let him go if he loses.

I know hes not as notable as Cole man but they also cut Tim Hague as well. And he got the shaft on the decision. Looks like Strike force is gonna start getting more and more good talent.

Jak made a good point. I remember hearing an off-the-cuff remark (might've been Rogan or Goldberg) about Coleman having personal/financial problems. If so, UFC definitely threw him a bone and should get a tip of the hat for it.

Xspur: It would have been nice to have let Mark make the announcement, give him a chance to “retire” from the UFC.nbsp; (Quote)

It might be an issue of Coleman not wanting to retire a la Liddell.

Also, props to the 5Oz for breaking this story.

fanoftna33: I would really like to see Coleman go to Strikeforce for just 1 fight, Randalman vs Coleman.

I would really like to see Coleman stop fighting. The "I guess I'll just have to train harder" routine at age 47 won't even be able to fool him much longer.

There's your worthy opponent. Don't think Randy getting that title shot. In all honesty Mark had no more fight in him. Yea I have to agree with you guys Bonnar is all but irrelevant. If Bonnar loses his next fight he should be cut. There have been guys cut for less. Jardine is inconsistent but he still hasn't addressed his issue of standing and trading with these strikers. Much like Forrest had to learn that you can't stand and trade with the cream of the crop and expect to have good consistent results.
