Falaniko Vitale vs. Murilo “Ninja” Rua scratched from Shine Fights “Worlds Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas”

A middleweight bout between Falaniko Vitale and Murilo “Ninja” Rua previously announced for Shine Fights upcoming “Worlds Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas” has been scrapped due to a recent injury sustained by Vitale.

Sources close to the situation based in “the big island” recently informed FiveOuncesofPain.com that a knee injury has forced the longtime veteran of the Hawaiian based Super Brawl promotion from the upcoming Shine Fights card slated for Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina on May 15.

While many had previously expected for the contest to take place at 185 pounds, sources have further indicated to FiveOuncesofPain.com that “Ninja” is in fact looking to compete at a catchweight of 195 pounds.

Five Ounces has also learned that a replacement opponent is currently being sought to fill the void left by Vitale’s recent withdrawal, with an announcement of the substitution expected to be handed down in the coming weeks.

I hope they find a good replacement because Ninja is always a tough fight. This card looks to be a pretty interesting night, it will be good to see if Mayorga can handle himself in a cage.
