Exclusive: Matt Veach released from UFC

Matt Veach entered the UFC with an impressive unblemished record of 11-0, and he will be making his exit with a slightly tarnished record of 11-2.

FiveOuncesofPain.com has recently learned of the release of Veach by the UFC through sources close to the situation.

The dismissal from the UFC for Veach comes on the heels of a two fight losing skid since inking with the promotion.

Veach made his UFC debut during the TUF 10 finale in Decmber of 2009, submitting to a rear naked choke in the second round at the hands of newly crowned UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The Illinois based fighter followed that performance with a second round guillotine choke from Paul Kelly at UFC 112, and with the defeat was given a temporary vacation from the UFC.

With losses to two of the LW high profilers I expect he’ll be back sooner rather than later. He’s gonna go somewhere, steam roll a few folks and get the call back up.

Veach made his debut against Matt Grice at UFC FIght Night 17. Highly entertaining bout. Tough luck fighting Edgar in his second UFC bout

UFC is releasing fighters left and right, should the fans be worried about this? is the ufc stable enough or just saving sum $?

what I dont understand is they release fighters after 2 straight loses but the ufc goes out there and sign sum old boxer to an mma contract, wtf?

Manny, that boxer is well known……nobody knows who Veach is. I saw all the cards he fought on my self and I barely remember those losses.

Good luck to him though. I heard Bellator is highering…

Well that fat old boxer will make them more money fighting in one fight than most of the guys they cut can combined…. it’s strictly business…

    Rece Rock & Guthookd -

I guess your both right about selling ppv’s but i’m not interested in him fighting mma. He will know his opponents game plan wich will be take down + gnp. Hopefully after his 1st mma bout we’ll be seeing him posted on the website as the next ufc fighter released.

If he wants to fight the best, let him beat the Klitschko’s bro’s in boxing b4 he even steps in the octogon.(it wont’ happen) .
