Action-packed Sengoku 13 features slew of stoppages

Western fans worried about dozing off during Sengoku 13 due to the time differential between Japan and their respective locations were no doubt pleasantly pleased as action unfolded early this morning due to nearly half of the event’s bouts ending in the first round. As a matter of fact, with seven of eleven fights ending in knockout, the card’s participants were apparently more at risk of going to sleep than anyone tuning in.

Headlining featherweight Marlon Sandro walked away with the night’s fastest finish by earning his seventh career TKO with a 38-second flattening of Masanori Kanehara in a manner sure to merit discussion as one of the year’s best. The win marked Sandro’s third consecutive first-round knockout and raised his overall record to 17-1.

Other notable outcomes included Keita “K-Taro” Nakamura beating Omar de la Cruz by TKO a little less than four minutes into the second round of their fight, as well as Rodrigo Damm falling to Maximo Blanco‘s strikes in their bout’s second stanza.

A full list of results from the event are below:

“Marlon Sandro def. Masanori Kanehara via KO – Round 1″

I think that is incorrect. It should say: “Marlon Sandro def. Masanori Kanehara via KTFO – Round 1″
