Andrei Arlovski out of K-1 World Grand Prix

Though previously announced as competing in K-1’s 2010 World Grand Prix on October 2nd in Seoul, Korea, it appears former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski will longer be on the card. “The Pitbull” was previously scheduled to face Raul Catinas at the event.

Arlovski confirmed his lack of participation on the show via Twitter. No official explanation was given, nor has his replacement been announced.

The oft-bearded Belarusian hasn’t won in a Mixed Martial Arts ring since October 2008. He has lost three consecutive match-ups, including his memorable TKO defeat to Fedor Emelianenko at “Affliction – Day of Reckoning” in early 2009, and is 0-2 since signing with Strikeforce. Prior to his current run of bad luck Arlovski had won five straight bouts including victories over Roy Nelson, Ben Rothwell, and Fabricio Werdum. He has not fought since losing a decision last May to Antonio Silva at “Strikeforce – Heavy Artillery”.

I don’t know why he would want to do K-1 anyway…I would stay away from strikers if I was his chin.
