Season-winner Jonathan Brookins tops list of TUF 12 Finale suspensions

Based on the disposition displayed by Jonathan Brookins on the Ultimate Fighter 12 it seems probable the season’s champion would prefer to get back in the cage as soon as possible rather than sit back and rest on his laurels. However, Brookins’ return to the ring may not occur until the middle of next year according to the list of medical suspensions issued by the Nevada State Athletic Commission in relation to this past weekend’s event.

According to the NSAC’s rundown of injury information, Brookins suffered some sort of damage to his foot requiring X-Rays and clearance from an orthopedic specialist if he hopes to fight again before June 3, 2011.

Other than preliminary competitor Ian Loveland, who will also face a possible mandated vacation until June based on an injury to his finger, the remainder of the TUF 12 Finale fighters escaped the event without more than a few cuts with the exception of Fredson Paixao who will be held from contact until mid-January after suffering a flying-knee knockout in the first round of his bout with Pablo Garza.

Here is the complete breakdown of TUF 12 Finale medical suspension information:

Fredson Paixao -Suspended until 2/3/11 with no contact until 1/19/11
Ian Loveland – Must have second finger on left hand X-Rayed and cleared by orthopedist or no contest until 6/3/11
