The twenty-two men scheduled to fight tomorrow night in Montreal at UFC 124 all stepped on the scale today in Montreal and made weight without incident including headlining welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre and challenger Josh Koscheck.
St. Pierre registered at 170 pounds on the dot while his American Kickboxing Academy rival came in a click lower at 169. As expected, Koscheck was showered with booing as he made his way towards the stage though by the smile on his face it seemed clear he was actually enjoying their disapproval. After facing off with GSP he even poked fun at the volume of their jeers, asking the audience, “That’s it?”
Meanwhile, their division peer Thiago Alves came in at 171 pounds for his match-up with John Howard and avoided another weight-related incident as a result. Alves, who has missed the mark multiple times in the past, had even been warned by Dana White the bout would be his last at welterweight if he came in heavy again. Howard also clocked in at 171.
