All Strikeforce Challengers fighters set to go for tonight’s event

The lot of main card competitors entering the ring this evening in Nashville for Strikeforce Challengers 13 stepped on the scale Thursday with all making weight meaning tonight’s event will go on as originally scheduled. The card is highlighted by a pair of fights featuring two of the promotion’s undefeated talents, as heavyweight Daniel Cormier will take on Devin Cole and 170-pounder Tyron Woodley faces the stiffest test of his career in the form of well-rounded Belgian Tarec Saffiedine.

Woodley and Saffiedine both measured in at 170.2 pounds for their headlining clash, while Cormier came in almost ten pounds heavier than Cole by clocking 249 lbs. in comparison to Cole’s 239.2 pounds. Also notable, Ovince St. Preux weighed 204.8 for his fight against Ron “Abongo” Humphrey, who was 205.4 respectively, and Olympic judoka Dr. Rhadi Ferguson hit 205 on the dot for his promotional debut against John Richard (206 pounds).

Some of the preliminary fighters, many of whom are involved in amateur action, were not listed in the weigh-in results provided by Strikeforce. Fans can tune in to Showtime tonight during the network’s “Free Broadcast Weekend” to watch things unfold starting at 11:00 PM EST (delayed on the West Coast).
