Matt Mitrione puts undefeated record on the line this June against Christian Morecraft

The line-up for the UFC’s upcoming return to the Versus Network took another step towards finalization yesterday when it was announced heavyweights Matt Mitrione and Christian Morecraft would face off at the June 26 event. Both big men are coming off victories in their previous bouts with Morecraft’s adding an additional layer of intrigue to their UFC Live 4 match-up.

The 6’6” Northeasterner, who is 7-1 in his career with finishing performances in all seven of his victories, was last seen choking Sean McCorkle out a few weeks ago at UFN 24. McCorkle, sent packing by the UFC after the loss, is a friend and former training partner of Mitrione’s meaning “Meathead” may be out for revenge in Pittsburgh when the cage door closes.

Mitrione has found success in all four of his professional fights with the entire lot occurring in the Octagon. Among the former NFL lineman’s victims thus far are Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, Joey Beltran, and most recently Tim Hague at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 in January.

Other bouts slated for UFC Live 4 include a tilt between heavyweight kickboxers Cheick Kongo and Pat Barry, Rich Attonito’s 170-pound debut against always-tough Matt Brown, and Joe Stevenson’s first test in the UFC at featherweight in the form of submission specialist Javier Vazquez.
