Brian Ebersole vs. Dennis Hallman planned for August event

One has the nickname of a comic book character with a large “S” emblazoned across his chest, the other is himself known for shaving an upwards arrow into the hair on his. Both will meet on August 6 in Philadelphia as part of the UFC 133 line-up.

According to an official announcement on the UFC’s website, two of the company’s most experienced fighters in the form of Dennis “Superman” Hallman and Brian Ebersole will lock horns in late summer at the event as part of a card headlined by Vitor Belfort taking on Yoshishiro Akiyama. The welterweights each have over sixty fights under their belts and an incredible 97 combined wins between them.

A long-time veteran of the sport, Ebersole first made his name (and uniquely groomed chest) known to UFC fans this past February by upsetting Chris Lytle at UFC 127 after being called to fill in as a late replacement. The performance featured a number of entertaining antics and exchanges on the part of Ebersole who used a well-rounded set of skills to procure the Unanimous Decision victory. In addition to Lytle he also holds wins over Carlos Newton, Nick Thompson, and Matt Horwich.

The 35-year old Hallman has been on a tear as of late with seven wins in his last eight fights including a recent TKO of Karo Parisyan last November and an outpointing of Ben Saunders at UFC 117.

Other bouts set for UFC 133 include Rafael Natal vs. Riki Fukuda, Nick Pace vs. Michael McDonald, and Alessio Sakara vs. Jorge Rivera.
