Titan Fighting Championship named the latest addition to their upcoming May 27 card today in the form of a bout between UFC veteran Rory Markham and Kansas City’s own Rudy Bears. Both welterweights will be looking to bounce back from losing performances and should treat fans to an entertaining affair given their propensity to finishing opponents and likely desire to get back on the winning track.
The 16-6 Markham has been out of action since March 2010 after a run in the Octagon that was highlighted by an opening round knockout of Brodie Farber at UFN 14 due to a well-placed headkick. The performance netted Markham “Knockout of the Night” honors and was his eleventh career win by way of strikes. In fact, all sixteen of his victories have involved a finishing performance including success against Brad Blackburn, Pat Healy, and Mike Pyle.
Bears has been a long-time favorite in the K.C. area and will enter the ring with a 12-7 record including five TKOs and five submissions. He was last seen taking on Jason High at Titan FC 16 and had knocked Chad Reiner at Bellator 32 a few months prior to his stumble in January.
Other fighters set for action at Titan FC 18 include Jens Pulver and Drew McFedries meaning those in attendance or watching on television should be in for a treat considering the collection of strikers. The event will be shown live on HDNet starting at 10:00 PM EST.
