Jason High fighting next month at stacked Strikeforce Challengers 16 event

Popular 29-year old grappler Jason High has signed to square off against rising submission specialist Quinn Mulhern on June 24 in Kent, Washington as part of a Strikeforce Challengers line-up already featuring a number of potential-laden prospects including Ryan Couture, Caros Fodor, and Lorenz Larkin.

News of High’s participation on the Strikeforce Challengers 16 card first surfaced on the proud Kansas City product’s Twitter page.

The 13-3 High has won his last four fights including a decision over Hayato “Mach” Sakurai in Japan this past New Year’s Eve and an opening round submission of Rudy Bears a little less than a month later at Titan FC 16. He has also found past in-ring success against Andre Galvao, a good sign for those in his camp considering his upcoming opponent’s ability to finish his foes on the ground.

The debuting Mulhern, who sharpened his game as a King of the Cage champion, is 15-1 in his career with ten tap-outs and has emerged with his hands raised in seven straight scraps. Four of his last five victories have been the result of a Rear-Naked Choke, though he has has shown an ability to strike as well with three TKOs to his credit with the most notable being a second round stoppage against UFC veteran Rich Clementi.

In addition to High’s scheduled date with Mulhern, and action from the aforementioned trio of fighters, Strikeforce Challengers 16 will also feature female Muay Thai champion Germaine de Randamie continuing her transition into MMA against Julia Budd and the much anticipated unveiling of Danillo Villefort against powerful pugilist Antwain Britt.
