The UFC is a day away from crowning a new top contender in the heavyweight division as hard-hitting behemoths Junior dos Santos and Shane Carwin are set to face off in Vancouver as the main event for this weekend’s UFC 131. In addition to Carwin vs. Dos Santos, the card also features the featherweight debut of Ultimate Fighter original Ken Florian who takes on 16-1 Brazilian Diego Nunes and a clash of mat-based technicians Demian Maia and Mark Munoz.
The group of men taking to the Octagon tomorrow night all stepped on the scale earlier today in hopes of hitting their weight-related marks and were successful in doing so meaning the event will go on as originally planned.
Fans can catch a handful of preliminary pairings starting at 5:45 PM EST on Saturday through either Facebook or YouTube, then switch over to Spike TV at 8:00 PM EST for two more before main card action starts at 9:00 PM EST on PPV.
