The UFC bolstered their featherweight division this week with the signing of Japanese star Hatsu Hioki, a former Shooto/SRC champion who holds an overall record of 24-4-2 and has emerged with his hands raised the last four times he’s stepped foot in the ring.
Hioki’s addition to the Zuffa roster was announced through the UFC’s Twitter account.
The 27-year old grappler has gone 12-1-1 in his last fourteen fights and holds past wins over Ronnie Mann, Marlon Sandro, Jeff Curran, and Mark Hominick. Hioki also has yet to be finished in thirty professional appearances, three of the four decisions being of a Split variety, while having put away sixteen of the opponents he’s faced before scorecards came into play including twelve by way of submission.
No word was mentioned on when Hioki will make his Octagon debut. He last fought on April 29 where he choked out Donald Sanchez in the second round of a Shooto event.
