Eduardo Pamplona set for preliminary pairing with Tyler Stinson at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson”

Strikeforce has announced rising welterweights Tyler Stinson and Eduardo Pamplona will meet at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” as part of still-growing undercard already scheduled to feature J.Z. Cavalcante facing off against Lyle Beerbohm in addition to a bout between 135-pound females Alexis Davis and Julie Kedzie.

Stinson will be making his Strikeforce debut at the July 30 event after compiling a 20-7 record outside of the promotion including a pair of wins in Bellator. The 25-year old striker has scored thirteen knockouts along the way, as well as five submissions, while never having succumbed to strikes himself.

While Stinson may have found success his last two fights, his Brazilian opponent hasn’t lost in more than four years and will be looking for his eleventh consecutive victory when the two meet in Chicago. Pamplona is 15-2 in his career and notched a first frame stoppage against Jerron Peoples last month in his organizational unveiling at Strikeforce Challengers 16.

“Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” is headlined by light heavyweight champ Dan Henderson’s attempt to do what was once unthinkable and not only beat PRIDE icon Fedor Emelianenko but do so as a much smaller individual. The show is also highlighted by women’s welterweight champ Marloes Coenen putting her belt on the line against Miesha Tate and talented fan favorite Tim Kennedy taking on prodigious pugilist Robbie Lawler.
