Ronda Rousey vs. Julia Budd booked for Strikeforce Challengers 20

Rising star Ronda Rousey is ready to make a return to the cage after a victory last month featuring a phantom tap-out of opponent Sarah D’Alelio. However, with the Strikeforce Challengers 18 controversy in her rear-view mirror, the Olympic judoka will now look forward to November and a recently revealed match-up against Julia Budd.

Announced through the promotion’s Twitter account, the featherweight pairing is set for a Strikeforce Challengers event. Though a location wasn’t mentioned, it’s assumed the festivities will take place in Las Vegas as has been the case for similar shows since July.

Her upcoming opponent, Budd, owns a 2-1 record including a highly impressive outpointing of accomplished kickboxer Germaine de Randamie a few months back at Strikeforce Challengers 16.

Comparably, Rousey is undefeated three fights into her MMA career with back-to-back Armbar wins prior to the D’Alelio fight. The outspoken 24-year old has received a good deal of attention thus far, a result of not only her impressive showings in the ring but a judo career netting a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the distinction of being the first American woman in the sport’s history to do so.
