UFC on FOX headliner to be revealed this afternoon

Within moments of last month’s epic announcement regarding the UFC’s partnership with the FOX Network, speculation from fans and media had already begun on what match-up would cap the historic evening off as a main event. Now, come lunchtime, the entire world will know.

The UFC has sent out a press release confirming head-honcho Dana White will announce the show’s headliner during a conference call with media at 1:00 PM EST. Five Ounces of Pain will be on the line, listening in with anxious ears, and reporting back to readers live as the news breaks.

In terms of frontrunners, other than an already announced bout between rising featherweights Dustin Poirier and Pablo Garza, no fighters have been publicly attached to the card though quite a few have been eliminated through statements by White or other reliable sources. However, two live fights are expected on FOX with a preliminary card broadcast through Facebook.

So who will sit at the top of the card come November 12?

Anderson Silva? Not according to the UFC President in interviews leading up to this past weekend’s stop in Rio de Janeiro. Carlos Condit or Ben Henderson? Not according to agent Malki Kawa. Dan Henderson? Mauricio “Shogun” Rua? Brock Lesnar?

Only time will tell for sure….less than six hours and counting to be exact. Until then, Five Ounces’ readers are encouraged to make their own predictions in the “Comments” section below this article.
