“Battle on the Bayou” official as all fighters make weight

The UFC has returned to New Orleans and, as they say around those parts, “Laissez les bons temps roulez!” Though the card may not be the sexiest on paper it is littered with competitive match-ups and features a pair of Ultimate Fighter winners in addition to the return of popular 185er Alan Belcher.

However, before the good times can roll, headliners Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger will need to hit their weight-related marks along with the rest of their UFN 25 peers. As always, Five Ounces of Pain will be here to bring you live results from the scale when the festivities kick off at 6:30 PM EST.

The UFC’s “Battle on the Bayou” will be shown live on Spike TV this Saturday night starting at 9:00 PM EST with preliminary cards airing through the promotion’s Facebook page a few hours earlier.

All fighters made weight and are ready to square off tomorrow night in the Octagon.

Either they speak attrocious French in NOLA, or you just said “let the no times roll.”

    And.. of course… I mis-type “editor”.

    Probably a lesson in that.

I’m not sure exactly where the seats are, my roommate scored us somehow. I think she said that we’re the second or third row off the floor, so they should be pretty decent. Hell for all I care they can be at the very back and I’d still be excited to go watch some MMA in the Big Easy. Sunday is gonna be rough…

Let’s go SHIELDS!!!-Koch is going to be the breakout star of the night and Belcher should be able to get an easy KO-I think fight of the night honors might go to Dongi and McGee

I am more excited for a Jake Shields -vs- wrestler fight than I thought I would be. Honestly, even if I have to explain half of the fight to some of my friends, I don’t care; I think it will be more interesting than it looks “on paper / HTML”. I think Jake takes this, and I am hoping he does it convincingly enough to get him some proper mainstream respect for his skills.
