UFC 136 gets greenlight after all fighters make weight

The UFC has saddled up and moseyed on down to Houston this weekend and, true to the State’s motto, when it comes to the magnitude of the card everything is bigger in Texas!

Featuring a pair of title-fights at the top of the card (Frank Edgar vs. Gray Maynard for lightweight gold, Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian for the featherweight belt), two bouts with major implications on the contendership front (Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann, Melvin Guillard vs. Joe Lauzon), and one heckuva underard, UFC 136 should be an incredible event filled with memorable moments.

The entire lot of competitors stepped on the scale earlier today in hopes of making weight and all succeeded meaning the event will go on as scheduled.

I’m excited about this card, without a doubt one of the years best on paper.

I think Maynard’s going to take Edgar’s title away, Aldo ko’s Florian, Sonnen grinds out Stann, Phan beats a sloppy Garcia who’s blocking punches with his face, Guillard ko’s Lauzon, Maiia submitts Santiago and Pettis ko’s Stephens.

    Wow, that’s a fun card!
