After seeing Ultimate Fighter 10 cast-member Darrill Schoonover pull out of a planned bout with Bobby Lashley for the Shark Fights heavyweight title due to injury, the promotion has announced a replacement for Schoonover in the form of Tim Hague.
Hague-Lashley will serve as the main event of Shark Fights 21 on November 11 from Lubbock, Texas and, regardless of the replacement, will still feature the organization’s heavyweight strap as a prize to be had by the winner.
In Hague, Lashley gets a former UFC fighter perhaps known best for his submission win over Pat Barry while competing inside the Octagon. At 13-5, Hague has meet some of the biggest names in the sport and has finished eleven of his foes. However, as intriguing as the fight may be in terms of a test for Lashley, the 28-year old Canadian said on his Twitter account Monday that the fight is not 100% set yet.
Lashley (6-1) rebounded from his first career loss to defeat John Ott at Titan FC 17 earlier this year. Lashley, a former WWE superstar, signed a multi-fight deal with Shark Fights a few months ago and will be making his debut under the company’s banner. In his seven professional appearances Lashley has already picked up wins over veterans Wes Sims and Bob Sapp.
No other match-ups have been announced for the show but are expected to be revealed over the coming weeks.
