Ultimate Fighter Season 14 Live Blog

Last week on The Ultimate Fighter 14, Team Bisping snapped their four fight losing streak when Akira Corassani defeated Dustin Neace by decision. Also, Team Miller found out that John Dodson was the mole in their camp and Michael Bisping got Jason Miller‘s car towed for being parked in the handicap spot.

Rather than a simple recap, throughout the festivities, this fall 5 OZ will be providing live commentary during each episode including assessments of each fighter and breakdowns of the action, not to mention a snarky remark or two relating to the behavior of coaches and contestants.

Read below to get our take on things as they unfold in this week’s episode (and make sure to join in on the discussion in the “Comments” section below:

*We start with a recap of last weeks fight, including the controversial ankle lock tap out. Akira tapped once, but the ref didn’t call a stop to the fight. They also show the post-fight antics between Bisping and Miller. Ryan Parsons, Miller’s assistant coach, says he now understands why Bisping is so hated.

*In the locker room, Dustin still believes that Akira tapped. Miller says he has nothing to apologize about because he fought his heart out but just ended up on the wrong side of a decision.

*Steven Siler wanted to fight Diego Brandao because he feels that he’s the best fighter, so he wants to take him out. Gotta respect Steven for that. Miller says Steven has cardio for days, Bisping is very worried about Diego’s cardio. So cardio won’t come into play in this fight.

*Miller brings his dog to weigh-ins. How pissed is Chuck Liddell that he didn’t do this during his seasons? Both guys make weight.

*Steven misses his girlfriend, Diego misses nothing about Brazil.

*Featherweight Fight – Steven Silver (Team Miller) vs. Diego Brandao (Team Bisping): Diego came out firing bombs, hit Steven with an overhand right that clipped him, and then followed up with another flurry of punches that puts Steven down and out. Hell of a performance by Diego.

Result: Diego Brandao def. Steven Siler via KO Round 1 (Punches)

*Bisping and Miller exchange words after the fight. Miller walks back to his locker room and Bisping continues to trash talk him. Miller doesn’t understand why Bisping is such an a**hole and thinks it could have something to do with his penis size.

*Team Bisping debates the next fight. John Dodson is a tougher fight than Roland Delorme, so both TJ Dilashaw and John Albert both want Roland.

*Roland has some weird skin infection that they have to go check out.

*At the fight announcement, Bisping gives his rules on how to handle yourself. “Don’t try a double leg during the staredown, don’t try to fight after the fight, don’t squirt water after the fight, and don’t say your opponent tapped. You only look like an asshole.” This was awesome.

*Bisping announces that the fight is John Albert vs. John Dodson. People think TJ is a coward for not wanting to fight Dodson.

*Dodson is a ball of energy at practice, jumping all around and hugging people. He says he’s never serious because fighting is supposed to be fun.

*Bantamweight Fight – John Albert (Team Bisping) vs. John Dodson (Team Miller): The first round was very action packed with Dodson using his speed. He landed the left hook at will and nearly finished Albert, but Albert managed to survive. Things slowed down near the end as both men burned a lot of energy early, but Dodson ended the round on top landing a flurry of hammer fists. The second round was much slower. Dodson used his speed well to land punches while Albert was content on using his jab. Dodson scored with a couple of takedowns but didn’t do anything with either of them. Neither guy really opened up in the 2nd. Pretty close fight but Dodson should take the decision.

Result: John Dodson def. John Albert via Decision

*Dodson says that he coasted his way through that fight just to make it to the next round.

*Bisping guarantees that Albert will fight on the Finale. I’m not sure I’d guarantee that since he didn’t show much in that fight. Bisping then tries to congratulate Miller, but Miller just ignores him. Bisping is such an amazing heel.
