UFC 137 Real Time Press Conference Highlights

Though Halloween is less than a week away, MMA fans will receive a handful of treats a few days early when UFC 137 unfolds live from Las Vegas on October 29. Headlined by former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz battling it out with UFC icon B.J. Penn, the fistic festivities also include a quartet of notable heavyweights and more than one fight with impact on the related division’s contendership picture.

Before the competitors take to the Octagon they’ll head to the stage later this afternoon for a press conference relating to Saturday night’s show. On hand will be Diaz, Penn, Cheick Kongo, Matt Mitrione, and Dana White who will all field questions from fans/media.

Five Ounces of Pain will be tuned in and delivering highlights back to readers as they unfold in real time when the presser starts at 4:00 PM EST.

For me this card (when it was gsp vs diaz) before all the drama was card of the year now its just a card. they should have a backup fight with decent names on deck in cases like this so fans like me dont feel so dissapointed. Still eager for sat dont get me wrong just a lil less eager.

This card may have lost a lot of its luster with all the main event changes, but it still has a number of fights that have the potential of turning into absolute wars. Siver/Cerrone, Kongo/Mitrione, and Diaz/Penn are the obvious frontrunners for fight of the night, but Griffin/Palaszewski, Hioki/Roop, and Jorgense/Curran should all be very good fights too and might manage to sneak an end of night bonus or two away from the main attractions.

This card seems lacking at first glance due to the absence of a title fight, but as far as entertaining, competitive fights go, this event is stuffed to the gills.
