UFC 139 back to twelve tussles as Alex Soto steps in for injured fighter

The UFC has placed newcomer Alex Soto in a bout with Michael McDonald at UFC 139, as Soto takes the place of an injured Johnny Eduardo.

UFC 139 will feature a main event pitting Mauricio “Shogun” Rua against Dan Henderson with the winner possibly becoming the new #1 contender at light heavyweight. The pay-per-view card will take place November 19 from San Jose, California and also features Wanderlei Silva vs. Cung Le as well as Urijah Faber vs. Brian Bowles.

Soto (6-0-1) is a veteran of the both the Army and Navy. He had won his first six professional fights before taking a draw against Seiji Akao this past June. Soto also tried out the Ultimate Fighter 14 but was not among the final cast.

McDonald is 13-1 overall and 2-0 inside the UFC, including “Fight of the Night” honors in his win over Edwin Figueroa back in March. He won a decision over Chris Cariaso this past May at UFC 130.
