Trailer surfaces for UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem

On December 30 two giants will collide inside the Octagon with their impressive stature being both figurative and literal, as both Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem are accomplished former champions of immense physical proportions.

Now the two can be seen facing off in a preview for their headlining clash at UFC 141 where the promotion is quick to point out how large each is, explaining more than 500 pounds will collide in the cage over New Year’s Eve weekend.

Overeem is unbeaten in his last eleven fights with ten wins and one No Contest. The 31-year old Dutchman has finished 33 of the 35 opponents he’s taken out with a solid balance between strikes/submissions despite being a K-1 World Grand Prix winner. Among his past triumphs are victories over Brett Rogers, Vitor Belfort, Sergei Kharitonov, and most recently Fabricio Werdum.

On the other hand, Lesnar only has a fifth of Overeem’s success with a 5-2 record and is coming off a TKO loss to Cain Velqasuez from October 2010 after being sidelined with a bout of diverticulitis on the heels of a TUF coaching stint. Prior to the stumble Lesnar had won four straight against the likes of Randy Couture, Shane Carwin, and Frank Mir.

I am still not totally sold on Overeem-I remember Werdum seeming to get the better of him in the standup exchanges and his gas tank is suspect-Have no idea what to expect from the after surgery Brock-Still looking forward to this match for the sheer reason of the unknown

Apparently Reem left his camp hear in the states to go train in Holland tone able to assist his sick mother… Which is admirable as a son but may cause some issues for him coming into the fight… It’s a no brainer though to be closer to a sick family member.
