FX to play host to entire lot of UFC 142 prelims

When it comes to the UFC’s January return to Rio de Janeiro the FX Network will play the host for the UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes preliminary bouts, broadcasting all six fights over a two-hour period rather than any bouts being given the Facebook treatment.

The special will mark the first time an entire group of undercard offerings will be shown on television since the UFC and FOX Network teamed up earlier this year.

Set to compete on the FX-portion of the card are Paulo Thiago vs. Mike Pyle, Fabio Maldonado vs. Stanislav Nedkov, Rob Broughton vs. Ednaldo Oliveira, Felipa Arantes vs. Antonio Carvalho, Michihiro Omigawa vs. Yuri Alcantara, and Thiago Tavares vs. Sam Stout.

UFC 142 will air on pay-per-view starting at 10:00 PM EST with the preliminary pairings firing up two hours earlier on FX. The show’s main event features UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo defending his title against Chad Mendes.
