Former WEC lightweight champ Jamie Varner has signed a new multi-fight agreement with Xtreme Fighting Championships and has a new fight scheduled as well.
Varner, who last competed earlier this year with a victory over Nate Jolly for XFC, will be in action on February 10 at XFC 16: High Stakes from the Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Overall, Varner carries a record of 18-6-1 in his career, including mark of 2-3-1 in his last six bouts. Varner was released from the WEC after back-to-back defeats at the hands of Shane Roller and Donald Cerrone.
“I am very thankful that they are giving me another opportunity,” Varner said. “(John) Prisco and the XFC made me want to fight again!”
Prisco, the president of XFC, said in a statement, “This is a big acquisition for the XFC. We are still working on the opponent, but Jamie will make his next appearance for us at ‘High Stakes’ in February.”
