Heavyweight war between Brendan Schaub-Ben Rothwell signed for UFC 145

Ultimate Fighter finalist Brendan Schaub will look to rebound from a devastating knockout loss at the hands of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira when he steps inside the Octagon at UFC 145 against Ben Rothwell. The UFC recently announced the bout’s addition to the March 24 card.

UFC 145 is rumored to take place in Montreal though the fight company did not announce a venue at the time of placing Schaub-Rothwell on the card.

Schaub is 8-2 in his career, but had his four-fight win streak snapped when he was defeated by Nogueira earlier this year in Brazil. Comparably, Rothwell has competed just three times in the UFC including a loss to Mark Hunt. He is 31-8 in his pro MMA career.

Schaub-Rothwell joins two other tussles scheduled for the show including Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs and Che Mills vs. Rory MacDonald.

Schaub for the win… Rothwell looked terrible last time out.

Rothwell was coming off a long layoff last fight but I think he takes this one.

Rothwell did look like shit the last time out, but he was also coming off a 15 month layoff. I think he’s the better all around fighter, but we’ll see how much Schaub has improved.
